Raven Quay near Courtenay Dr: Kaiapoi true right-bank. Downriver below Raven Quay stopbank, wide cracks & riverbank slumping towards Kaiapoi River. Some cracks about 2m deep. All cracks caused by riverbank lateral-spreading. Cracks went for several hundred metres along & across the tarsealed track by Raven Quay to Courtenay Stream. Besides riverbank, lateral-spreading, Kaiapoi River water caused severe liquefaction-damage to nearby Courtenay Dr & houses.

*Trekked Charles St, Tom Ayers Dr, Raven Quay, Courtenay Stream, Kaiapoi River banks. 43 snaps.
Coda:
Coastguard would survive the quakes. Kaiapoi Visitors Centre would be relocated 100m upriver behind Charles St stopbank, opposite New World. Visitors Centre was revamped as Paris for the Weekend cafe, established 2016.
