Peterborough St was blitzed by the quake: road, houses, businesses. EXTREME DANGER, damage everywhere.

Coda:

18.05.11. Mainland Press reported that the CBD needed 900 commercial bldg demolitions. To date only 100 commercial bldgs were demolished in 3 months, despite National State of Emergency powers. Given that rate it would take more than 2 years to complete CBD demolitions, never mind rebuilds. 300 commercial bldg demolitions were also needed in the suburbs. And that wasn't counting 1 000s of housing demolitions & rebuilds.

28.06.12. Sixteen months post 22.02.11 Killer Quake, Christchurch CBD would still be strangled by CERA's red zone cordon & N-S division along Gloucester St. Little rebuild, many demolitions pending.

16.03.13. Two years post 22.02.11 Killer Quake, CERA's strangling red zone cordons would still be around the CBD, including NZDF checkpoints. Many demolition sites in the CBD, little rebuild. NZDF would occupy the red zone CBD for 28 months post 22.02.11 quake, before CERA dispensed with strangling military cordons & NZDF checkpoints.

Jan 2014. Little rebuild in CCDU's core CBD.

Jan 2015. Some new bldgs in the CBD. Many demolitions. No CERA Blueprinted, anchor projects built, or even started. Just cosmetic "improvements" to Avon River banks by Antigua Boat Shed, like revamped footpaths.

New DJCA Sidekick would be build on the Early Childhood Education site.
